Laterish ("the Extension") is a browser extension that helps you catalog, search, and interact with your bookmarks using AI. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data We Collect

• Email address — used for account authentication.
• Bookmarked URLs and page titles — stored so you can search and manage your saved pages.
• Page content (text) — temporarily extracted from web pages you choose to bookmark, summarize, or read aloud. This content is sent to third-party AI services for processing and is not stored beyond what is needed to generate your bookmark metadata.
• User preferences — settings like bionic reading configuration and daily findings preferences.

How We Use Your Data

• To generate AI-powered metadata (titles, descriptions, categories, tags) for your bookmarks.
• To provide TL;DR summaries and text-to-speech functionality.
• To enable natural language search across your bookmarks.
• To personalize daily findings and recommendations.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to process data:

• Supabase — database and authentication (stores your bookmarks and account).
• OpenRouter — AI model API for generating metadata, summaries, and embeddings.
• ElevenLabs — text-to-speech voice generation.
• Google Safe Browsing — URL safety checks.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a Supabase database with row-level security enabled, meaning only you can access your own bookmarks and settings. Authentication is handled securely via Supabase Auth.

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as you have an active account. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the Extension's settings.

Your Rights

You can:

• Export all your bookmarks at any time.
• Delete individual bookmarks or your entire library.
• Delete your account and all data from the settings page.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
